Photography and mixed media
Photography is at the heart of this ensemble, sometimes used alone in productions, sometimes combined with painting, drawing and body painting. Many works begin with gestural painting created without a precise plan, where lines, colors and shapes appear intuitively. The body is then painted, photographed and then integrated into this visual universe. Some images are finally printed on fine art paper and reworked with paint, pencil or ink. Each work is thus constructed in stages, between photography, gesture and transformation.
Developed as part of my Masters in Visual Arts, this work focuses on how thoughts, emotions and inner experiences can take visible form. Resilience served as a starting point for this exploration, particularly through the notions of adaptation, disorder, the relationship between the inside and the outside and the relationship to one's own thoughts. Rather than directly illustrating an emotion, I sought to let the gesture, the color, the shapes and the body translate something more instinctive and personal.
